Location: Lakeland, FL
Owner: Polk County Tax Collector
General Contractor: Rodda Construction
Architect: Straughn Trout Architects
Completion Date: 2013
Other: The original building was a Publix store, the pride and joy of Lakeland where Publix is headquartered. It was later renovated to become Lakeland office for the Polk County Tax Collector. The client very much wanted to preserve the old art deco style of the building, and Pardue Masonry went to great lengths to match the glass block color, which when it was originally installed was clear, but turned to a green hue over the years. This project truly was an example of the owner, architect, general contractor, subcontractor (including Pardue Masonry), and vendors working closely together to ensure the renovation stayed true to the original building.
Scope: Renovation – Glass Block, Block Masonry
